Fortkochi Police Station was opened on 04.06.1972 as per ORDER B2-3832/72/EC. DT.19.03.1972.This Police Station has been shifted to the New Building No.I/464 A in Kochi Corporation on 11.11.1983 as per GO (Rt) 3551/83/ Home dt 11.11.1983 in 15.475 cents of land at Fortkochi Police station in Sy No 31-2b of Fortkochi Village.

Santa Cruz Basilica
The Basilica belongs to the Diocese of Cochin, the 2nd oldest Diocese in India. is also one of the eight Basilicas in the country.It was built around 400 year s ago by the Portugese.The Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica at Fort Kochi is one of the eight Basilicas in Kerala. Counted as one of the heritage edifices of Kerala, this church is one of the finest and most impressive churches in India and visited by tourists the whole year round. It is a place of devotion as well as a center of historic significance, endowed with architectural and artistic grandeur and colours of the gothic style. The basilica serves as the Cathedral church of the Diocese of Cochin. It was built originally by the Portuguese and elevated to a Cathedral by Pope Paul IV in 1558, was spared by the Dutch conquerors who destroyed many Catholic buildings. Later the British demolished the structure and pt:João Gomes Ferreira commissioned a new building in 1887. Consecrated in 1905, Santa Cruz was proclaimed a Basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1984.
St. Franci's Church
IT was built by The Portuguese around 500 years back and the body of Vasco De Gama was firstly buried in this church. So many tourists visit this church every day.St. Francis CSI Church, in Fort Kochi, originally built in 1503, is the oldest European church in India and has great historical significance as a mute witness to the European colonial struggle in the subcontinent.The Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama died in Kochi in 1524 when he was on his third visit to India. His body was originally buried in this church, but after fourteen years his remains were removed to Lisbon.[
It is a beautiful beach stretching around 1 km starting from the northern Chinese net area to the Navy’ s INS Dronacharia compound in the southern part. A part of old Williams Fort is still seen in the beach. The beach is so alive with the Chinese nets, sights of merchant and passengers ships passing by , sight of LMG Terminal in the night and thousands of visitors come here everyday.
